Gypsy Moth Survey Crew Starts Annual Counting Workers from the Clare County Gypsy Moth Suppression Program began their annual count of egg masses after Labor Day. The product being applied contains Bacillus thuringiensis var. karstaki or Btk, which is a naturally occurring soil bacteria that interferes with the gypsy moth caterpillars’ digestive system. You can stay indoors if you prefer or leave the area until the spraying is completed.
