Date: 4/28/17
Location: Isabella County, Weiss Township          
Project: Landowner is interested in having a management plant written for 190 acres of mostly Aspen with some red maple and oak. He wants to enroll in the QFP program and is also interested in FSP cost share program.  The biggest goal for the property is to attract more deer and there is already a timber sale contracted for this year on a portion of the property.

Location: Gladwin County, Tobacco Township    
Project: Landowner wants a management plan and timber harvest for 20 acres of mature red and white pine plantation. Total ownership is 60 acres, and the pine stand has good access as it is along the road. improving wildlife (Especially deer) habitat is the main goal for this harvest.

Location: Bourret Township, Gladwin County
Project: Timber Harvest for about 50 acres of mixed hardwoods. Landowner wants to target mature aspen as well as maple and cherry.  About 7 acres of red pine plantation to be thinned as well. The total ownership is 140 acres and wildlife habitat improvement is the goal. He is enrolled in Tree Farm Program and has harvested in the past (not on 50 ac parcel).

Location: Clare County, Greenwood Township
Project: Management plan For enrolling 60 acres in QFP. ~10 acres is an open oak/cherry mix. The rest is mostly oak with cherry, maple, beech and poplar. Some of the parcels have been logged in the '90's and 00's. Wildlife hunting and viewing is the main management goal.

Date: 1/27/17
Location: Midland County, Hope Township
Project:  Management plan for enrolling 40 acre parcel in QFP.  Interested in FSP funding.  21 acre hardwoods stand with maples, cherry, aspen, dead ash, BA around 130.  11 acre mixed pine plantation with white pine, red pine, and some spruce.  ~6-17" DBH, ~200 BA.  Creek running through center of property.  Management for sustainability, deer & wildlife habitat, and species diversity.

Location: Gladwin County; Butman Township
Project:  Management plan for enrolling 160 acre parcel in QFP.  Possibly interested in FSP funding.  Largely red and white oak with beech, aspen, birch, and maple.  Smaller hemlock and cedar stands present.  Several lower lying wet areas on property.  Management for sustainability, deer and turkey.

Project: 20 acre thinning on 35 acre parcel.  Mostly red oak of DBH 10-20", with white oak, aspen and other species present.  Management goals are improving deer and wildlife habitat.

Project:  ~20 acre hardwood thinning to promote regeneration and improve deer and wildlife habitat. Red and sugar maple, aspen, oak, dead ash, and other species present.  Oak mostly retained.  Goals are deer habitat and timber revenue.

Project:  Landowner interested in setup of 25-30 acre aspen harvest and getting a forest management plan written for ~600 acres.  Harvest is mainly aspen with some red maple, basswood, and dead ash.  Oak and some other species to be retained.  Property is managed for wildlife, recreation, and aesthetics.

Project:  Harvest of approximately 15-20 acres of primarily aspen on 40 acre parcel.  Goals are wildlife and hunting.  Scattered oaks to be retained as much as possible.

Location: Clare County, Surrey Township
Project:  80 acre parcel, looking for harvest of approximately 20 acres of primarily aspen for wildlife and deer.  Red maple, oak and other species scattered throughout aspen.  Some/most oak retained for wildlife.  Likely to be done in winter to reduce risk of oak wilt.

Location: Gladwin County; Buckeye Township
Project: 80 acre parcel, Looking for harvest of approximately 25 acres of aspen with a small amount of jack pine mixed in throughout a portion. Likely in multiple cuts for multiple age classes.  First thinning of ~5 acres red pine also possible.  Goals are hunting/wildlife and revenue.

Project: 40 acre parcel.  Small select harvest of Ash and Aspen to clear and promote regeneration and deer habitat.  Also a clear cut of maybe 2 acres for a food plot.  Property boarders the tobacco river so some harvesting might be hard to do or impossible depending on equipment.

Location: Clare County : Frost Township
Project: Autumn Olive control.  QFP enrollment, management plan.  FSP funding if possible.  Goals are hunting and enjoyment of the property.  Dominate cover types include; red pine plantation, young white pine cover, young aspen, mixed hardwoods, and a cedar balsam lowland.  A little bit of everything is on this long 40 acre parcel.
