The Forestry Assistance Program (FAP) is funded by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) and is implemented by Michigan Conservation Districts so forestry information and assistance can be delivered to landowners at the local level. Our FAP forester, Mike Dittenber, provides technical assistance to landowners with property located in Clare and Gladwin Counties. If you own forested property, Mike can schedule a site visit with you to discuss your goals for your property and help answer questions pertaining to forest management, wildlife habitat, timber harvesting, forest pests and diseases, and more. He can provide you with information about state and federal assistance programs, tax incentive programs, and put you in touch with other natural resource professionals to help you attain your goals for your family forest.
