Gale Gala (Malus domestica ‘Gale Gala®’) is a vibrant, early-ripening sport of the classic Gala apple, prized for its intense red color, crisp texture, and sweet, aromatic flavor. Discovered in Washington State, this naturally occurring mutation matures slightly ahead of standard Gala varieties, making it a favorite for extending the harvest window and capturing early-season markets.

The fruit is medium-sized with a bright, full red blush over a yellow background, offering excellent eye appeal for fresh markets and U-pick orchards. Its flesh is firm, juicy, and finely textured, with a balanced sweetness that makes it ideal for fresh eating, salads, and light baking. Gale Gala stores well and maintains its crunch and flavor for weeks after harvest.

The tree is productive, precocious, and well-suited to high-density plantings. Hardy in Zones 5–8, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soils. As with other Gala types, it benefits from cross-pollination with varieties like Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Liberty.

Whether you're planting for flavor, color, or early harvest, Gale Gala delivers a reliable, high-quality apple with standout appeal.
