Pequot Lakes black raspberry
Pequot Lakes Black Raspberry is a cold-hardy standout bred for resilience and flavor. Originating in northern Minnesota, this vigorous variety has proven its strength through decades of extreme winters. The upright canes reach up to six feet and produce medium to large berries concentrated at the tips, making harvest easy and efficient. The fruit is deep black with a well-balanced profile—high in sweetness, low in acidity, and ideal for fresh eating, preserves, or farm market sales. Pequot Lakes begins ripening in the third week of July, with a concentrated two-week harvest window. Hardy in Zones 3 through 7, it thrives in sandy to clay loam soils and rewards growers with up to three pounds of fruit per plant each season.
